The scholarship is limited to the following educational institutions:
FIGR's UC Scholarship provides in-state systemwide Tuition and Student Services Fees and Campus Fees for students who are California Native Americans but not members of a federally recognized tribe. This scholarship applies to undergraduate and graduate students for professional and non-professional degrees. Applications for the 2025-2026 academic year are due by August 1, 2025.
If you are a member of a tribe that is federally recognized, the UC's Native American Opportunity Plan provides similar financial support for in-state systemwide Tuition and Student Services Fees. We encourage you to work with your campus's Native American resource center or community center to identify these opportunities.
The FIGR UC Scholarship covers in-state systemwide Tuition and Student Services Fees and Campus Fees for eligible applicants. Professional Degree Supplemental Tuition may be covered depending on availability of funds.
To be eligible for the FIGR UC Scholarship, applicants must meet ALL of the following criteria:
Note: A letter from a tribe will not be accepted as proof of eligibility. Applicants must self-certify that they are not a member of a federally recognized tribe. FIGR will keep sensitive applicant information confidential and store original documents safely until returning them to the applicant. Copies will only be used for purposes of determining eligibility, and such copies become property of FIGR. You must satisfy the eligibility criteria to receive a scholarship. Scholarships are not guaranteed
